Why didn't CHS employee Lee Behrens tell those who asked him about the Engine #9 transport what the REAL story was? #9 was diverted to get the asbestos removed (Lee Behrens had prior knowledge of the asbestos problem) but when asked about it, he stated that everything went smoothly. The mission statement of the committee says in part, "to provide accurate information". Does the mission statement need a definition of "accurate information"?

After our open records request, we were able to see that the majority of comments made by CHS employee, Lee Behrens, in reference to the Loop operators consist of negative propaganda- saying that the operators were anti-preservation, a negative force in the community (!!!), and even suggesting that our Mayor contact the Canon City Mayor to discuss their problems with the operators! Did the contract negotiations fail because of Mr. Behrens biased opinion of the Loop operators? We have to wonder.....how far apart in the way of numbers was the Loop and CHS from a contract deal? We're guessing it was less than the millions it's going to end up costing to get working, reliable replacement rolling stock.
