Food Services and Food & Beverage establishments report 20% loss
as taken From the Department of Revenue 2nd Quarter Sales Reports
(and not Lee Behrens "misguided" statements to the contrary):
Gas Stations and "Non-Stores" comprise lions share of Georgetown's 2nd quarter gross sales- and is the reason why the sales tax revenues are actually up!

The ever cordial Selectman Lee Behrens verbally attacks members of the Planning Commission after having been invited by the BOS to discuss Planning Commission projects
Watch out town volunteers! If a Selectman disagrees with your personal views he/she may potentially publicly ambush you in your volunteer capacity!

APRIL 4, 2005 ELECTION RESULTS
Votes cast Ward I Ward II Ward III
POLICE JUDGE
Robert C. Smith                         76        31          18
SELECTMAN, WARD I (2 positions)
Ronald W. Gulley 12
Lee M. Behrens 67
Barb Jackson 70 (The dentist from hell whose house is literally falling apart and who campaigned by throwing a drink on a constituent and cussed like a banshee gets the four year term!)
SELECTMAN, WARD II (2 positions)
John W. Jackson 21
Ernie Dunn 32
SELECTMAN, WARD III (1 position)
Robert C. Hodge 18

Yes, once again, the Ward 1 HGI idiot family speaks loudly and once again chooses the candidates that cause dissension and are of the lowest quality in our town. But, this is what we expected. The good news (for the rest of the town, that gets so frustrated with Ward 1), we will only need 15 signatures to initiate a recall in 6 months.

BOS 3-8-05

The Colorado Historical Society recklessly gambles with our town's economic future:

The CHS said:
"We can replace the steam locomotives - no problem."
Wrong! - to date (2/18/05), not a single operating locomotive that can run on the Loop between the CHS and the new operator exists

The CHS said:
"We are in the RFP process and can not renegotiate with the current operators."
Wrong! -that's not what the law says

The CHS said:
"The current operators don't want to stay."
Wrong! -they are being kicked out

The CHS said:
"The contract has been signed-it's a done deal. The contract is now a public document.", September 15, 2004
Wrong!-It would be over two weeks before the contract was signed and available to the public. (Sept. 30)

The CHS said:
"CDOT will take the right of way over my dead body."
Considering their track record, can you believe that?

Despite copyright infringements, the town directly copies statements from this site for the July 6th agenda (p. 27).

On the other hand,

We're happy to finally get them on the record regarding Mary Sims. Although we know it will likely be a one-sided, unquestioned explanation. Unfortunately, we couldn't be there to argue the other side, so we have tried to gleam (from the  agenda, p.27) what our response to these explanations would be. (turns out that they didn't discuss it at all - not a single comment from any board member was made, but instead the interim town administrator's letter was read, see p.27 of this week's agenda)

Rose Street meeting May 20th
Town Hall, 7pm
This is a town issue and all residents who are concerned about Rose Street should attend!

the meeting on the 4th is a Loop meeting with Silver Plume Trustees

(can Rose Street now be paved and restored at no expense to the town?)
UPDATED WITH OVER 150 DOCS! (including letters from ex-Selectman Kathy Hoeft inquiring about when Straight Creek was going to finish the work)

An attempt has been made by town hall to explain what this statement meant (and we really appreciate it!) We have been told that it was Coralue's belief that Mr. McKenna instructed the Treasurer to book certain non capital items against the Capital Improvement Fund. Ordinance No. 1, Series 2004 was on the Town Board agenda for public hearing and Second Reading April 13, 2004. Ordinance 1-2004 codifies the original 1984 ordinance establishing the Capital Improvement Fund outlining what items Capital Improvement Fund monies can be spent on.  So, it would appear as though town hall is taking steps to clarify this issue and to make certain it doesn't happen again.

EXCEPT THAT FOR YEARS THE TOWN'S AUDIT SAYS "THE SALES TAX REVENUE FUND WAS ESTABLISHED BY RESOLUTION IN 1984 TO ACCOUNT FOR THE RECEIPT OF 33% OF SALES TAXES. THESE REVENUES ARE PLEDGED TO THE PAYMENT OF PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST ON THE 1985 SALES TAX REVENUE REFUNDING AND IMPROVEMENT BONDS. UPON ACCUMULATION OF A SPECIFIED RESERVE, EXCESS TAX REVENUES MAY THEN BE USED FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT."

An Election for all 3 Wards?
Ward 2 Selectman, Rick Payne, resigns effective May 1, 2004
(we're going to miss you Rick!)
Ward 1 Selectman, Dick Dorn, resigns

(Selectmen have to be elected, will we now have an election for a position in all three wards?)
