This past summer, a few Georgetown residents worked with Loyal Leavenworth's firm (Mr. Leavenworth is the President of the Colorado Municipal League) to draft a report and letter outlining possible misuse of state grant funds and possible violations of conflicts of interest among Historic Georgetown, Inc., the town of Georgetown, the State Historical Fund, the Colorado Historical Society and other entities. The State auditor's report echos the concerns of the Leavenworth report. Many changes will need to be made at the State level, and with any luck those responsible for the apparently blatant mismanagement of state higher education funds will be held accountable. As you can see from the Leavenworth report, other granting entities are involved in this report.
