"We thought about responding to the rfp, but we saw how this Lee character has treated the Greksas and Ashbys. Those letters that he wrote that I have seen on your site disgust me. No one with any train expertise is going to work with an idiot like that. I'm not even gettin to the subject of that ridiculous rfp." sign me the anonymous train dude

It is a sad and dark day in Georgetown. The Loop will not be responding to the CHS rfp.
We applaud and thank the Georgetown Loop for putting up with Lee Behrens and the CHS for as long as they have (they deserve a medal of honor). No business should have to tolerate being slandered and libeled by a state employee with obvious local biases and political interests. The Loop has a huge commodity in their equipment and expertise and deserve to practice free enterprise in a welcoming community. Our town, county, and state officials have made it clear that they don't want the Loop here and have participated in this orchestrated effort led by Lee Behrens. The next time you talk to Lee, why don't you ask him what part he played (as an HGI employee) 30yrs ago when HGI tried to take the Loop from the Ashby's. Five years from now, you will be asking him what part he played in the death of our town's economy in order to fulfill a 30 year grudge.
So, tell us, Mr. HGI Secretary and Director of the Loop for CHS (Lee Behrens) is anyone besides HGI going to be responding to the RFP? And while you're not answering that, why don't you tell us how much of the Loop's financial information that you had access to was given to HGI to prepare their RFP?
(Aug. 14, 2004 - HGI did not respond to the RFP, but we all know what little train station- looking HGI store at the entrance to town (cleverly disguised as an official visitor center - but CDOT says its not a CDOT visitor center!) would be available for rent to any duped incoming operator.)
